Hedges the Record Breaker

Defender Matt Hedges became FC Dallas' all-time MLS appearance record-holder with his 248th game last Friday against Houston Dynamo. He passed Jason Kreis' previous record of 247 which stood for over a decade-and-a-half. Hedges marked the occasion with a shutout and earned MLS Team of the Week honors in the process.

Maurer Maintains Form

Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer registered his second consecutive clean sheet last week against Houston. The 30-year-old made six saves (just one short of his previous tally against Nashville) and earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Week bench for his effort. Maurer has 16 saves over his three games and has the second-best goals against average (GAA) ratio in MLS at 0.33.

Nelson Steps In

Defender Johnny Nelson made his second consecutive start last Friday, standing in for Ryan Hollingshead who has been unavailable while attending to a family matter. The second year left back helped Dallas maintain a shutout with 62 touches (third highest on the team), one tackle and an 83% passing accuracy.

Against Colorado

This is the 75th meeting against Dallas and Colorado. FC Dallas' all-time record against the Rapids is 33-24-17 with 113 goals scored and 92 against. At home, Dallas has a 24-8-6 (67 goals for, 40 against) all-time record against the Rapids. Last year, FCD won its home leg 2-1 and fell 3-0 away at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

About Colorado

Colorado began 2020 in good form with back-to-back 2-1 victories before the season was halted. However, Robin Fraser's team went winless in the MLS is Back tournament and fell 4-1 to Real Salt Lake last Saturday. Colorado's trip to Toyota Stadium sees the return of former FC Dallas midfielder Kellyn Acosta who spent five-and-a-half seasons in Dallas after progressing through its Academy. This will be Acosta's second Toyota Stadium homecoming since joining the Rapids in the summer of 2018.
