FRISCO, Texas (Sept. 29, 2010) - FC Dallas is teaming with First Choice Power and Cash America to present the second annual Hispanic Heritage Night on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Pizza Hut Park as the hottest team in MLS takes on the Chicago Fire (7:30 p.m. CT, Fox Soccer Channel).

"Celebrating the Hispanic community is incredibly important to us at FC Dallas as it is part of our daily lives, not just any single month or special night," said FC Dallas President and CEO Doug Quinn. "Futbol is woven into the very fabric of the Hispanic community along with faith, family and food.

"If you look at the face of our organization both on and off the field and with our fans, the Hispanic community is our community; much of our staff, 13 players on our first team roster and team Captain, Daniel Hernandez, all have Hispanic/Latin American roots. Honoring these roots with the activities planned for Saturday's Hispanic Heritage Night at Pizza Hut Park makes this celebration even more exciting."

The celebration is set to begin when gates open at 4:30 p.m. The first 2,500 fans through will receive a Daniel Hernandez growth chart. Festivities include cumbia style music by La Chanchona Hermanos Rivera and fútbol rock by international singer JAUREGUI.

Radio personality Shoboy will also be on hand to interact with fans as will FCD broadcast partner ESPN Deportes 1540 AM. Several local food vendors will be selling a variety of traditional tacos, tamales, elotes and tortas on the north concourse including Pollo Campero's authentic chicken recipe.

During halftime, FC Dallas will present the 2010 Hispano Distinguido award recognizing Mr. Raul Estrada, founder of the Hispanic Youth Foundation, which purchased and developed eight acres of soccer fields for local youth in the Oak Cliff area.

In addition to Estrada, FC Dallas will recognize three individuals who have dedicated their lives to growing the game in Dallas by awarding them with the Premio FC Dallas Legado de Fútbol. This year's recipients include: Francisco Lara, Toros FC head coach for 14 years, Trinidad Rosales, founder and head coach of Nuevo Laredo and Tomas Callado, founder and coach of Toluca.
