FC Cincinnati Transfers Daniel Haber to Ottawa Fury FC
July 9, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati forward Daniel Haber has been sent to Ottaway Fury FC on a free transfer.
Haber originally signed with Cincinnati on November 15, 2017 from Real Monarchs SLC and made seven USL appearances - including two starts - for the Orange and Blue in 2018. Most recently, he saw one minute of substitute action on Saturday, June 30, against Ottawa in Cincinnati's 2-0 win at Nippert Stadium.
"We want to thank Daniel for his time in Cincinnati," FC Cincinnati Technical Director Luke Sassano said. "He has been a true professional and we wish him the best as he returns to Canada to continue his career with Ottawa."
"We are greatly appreciative of Daniel's efforts through the first half of the season," head coach Alan Koch said. "Much-wanted playing time was limited within our current squad and this opportunity provides Daniel with a fresh opportunity. We wish him well in this move."
In addition to his seven league appearances this season, Haber appeared in all three of the Orange and Blue's U.S. Open Cup games, starting two and scoring one goal in the third round at Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
Before joining FCC, Haber played one season in Salt Lake City with Real Monarchs in 2017. In 2016, he played for Koch at Whitecaps FC II. Haber earned five caps with the Canada National Team, and he also spent time with Maccabi Haifa (Israeli Premier League) and Apollon Limassol and Ayia Napa of the Cyprus First Division. Haber played three seasons of college soccer at Cornell, earning Ivy League Player of the Year honors.
FC Cincinnati returns to the field on Saturday, July 7, when the team travels to face Nashville SC at 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT) at Nissan Stadium.
FC Cincinnati will play its next six USL games - and seven games overall - at Nippert Stadium between July 14 and August 18. First up, on Saturday, July 14, the Orange and Blue will host the Tampa Bay Rowdies at 7:30 p.m. In the middle of the homestand, FCC will also host an international friendly against La Liga's RCD Espanyol on Saturday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all games - including the international friendly - are available at fccincinnati.com/tickets or by calling 513-977-KICK (5425).
