March 1, 2014 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
St. Charles Chill News Release

St. Charles, Mo. - The Chill carried a 2-0 first period lead into the locker room on goals from Kyle O'Kane and Martin Hlinka but Tulsa scored twice in each of the remaining frames to take a 4-2 win.

St. Charles (10-38-6) got off to a fast start when Kyle O'Kane punched in a rebound for his 22nd goal of the season and a 1-0 Chill lead just 5:29 into the opening period. Zack Josepher and Nicklas Lindberg picked up the assists on the goal giving Josepher points in consecutive games while Lindberg picked up his ninth point in the last seven games. Goalie Robby Moss would keep it a one-goal game with a pair of nice saves before the Chill added another midway through on some nifty passing. Jordan Fox fed Travis Ouellette who found Hlinka in the deep slot for a power play goal to stretch the lead to 2-0 where it would remain until the second period.

The Chill dominated the Oilers (29-23-3) on the stat sheet in the second period, outshooting Tulsa 13-5 but the Oilers netted a pair of goals four minutes apart of each other to tie the game midway through with a Kyle Bochek shorthanded goal. The teams would skate into the locker room knotted up but it was the Oilers who came out firing in the third.

Tulsa outshot the Chill 18-8 in the final period and picked up a goal from Blair MacCauley to take a 3-2 lead and stretched it to 4-2 less than two minutes later with a power play goal from Ryan Menei, his second tally of the night, to post the final score.

The scheduled game in Independence, Missouri between St. Charles and the Missouri Mavericks for Sunday has been postponed due to inclement weather and has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 25th. St. Charles is back on the ice Saturday night at 7:05 on Pay What You Can Night with a family-oriented Mardi Gras Party.
