
Farrish Named New Ice Pilots Coach

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the ownership of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola, L.L.C. with owner Tim Kerr, announced that Dave Farrish has been named Head Coach of the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
Farrish, who will turn 48 years old on August 1, was recently the head coach of the Louisiana IceGators of the ECHL for the last four seasons. Farrish coached the IceGators to four division titles including a record of 48-22-2 for 98 points last year and coached the IceGators to an opening Kelly Cup Playoff series win 3 games to 2 vs. the Ice Pilots.
Farrish ended up with an overall record of 186-78-24 with the IceGators including a record of 15-19 in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. He was named the ECHL Coach of the Year following the 2001-2002 season as he coached the IceGators to ECHL records for points (106), wins (56), most home wins (30), most road wins (26), best points percentage (.806) and fewest home losses (2) in a season.
Farrish has an all-time record of 469-386-100 in 13 seasons as a professional coach, including three seasons with Springfield of the American Hockey League from 1997-2000, compiling a 113-96-31 record. He began his coaching career in the AHL with Moncton in 1989-90 and has also coached in the International Hockey League with Salt Lake and Fort Wayne.
Farrish, whose teams have qualified for the postseason in 10 out of his 13 seasons, also served as an assistant coach with New Jersey of the National Hockey League in 1992-93. Selected by the New York Rangers in the second round (24th overall) in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft and in the first round (fifth overall) by the San Diego Marineers in the 1976 World Hockey Association Draft, Farrish played 14 professional seasons from 1976-89.
As a defenseman, Farrish played 430 games in the NHL over seven seasons including as a member of the New York Rangers team that advanced to the 1979 Stanley Cup Finals. He is a n ative of Wingham, Ontario. Farrish and his wife, Roxanne, will reside in Pensacola, Florida.
The Ice Pilots will begin the 2004-2005 regular season at Mississippi on October 23 and play their home opener Saturday, October 30 vs. the Kelly Finalists Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.
Season tickets for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $649.44, side seats are $459.00, goal seats and lower upper seats are $411.84 and upper seats cost $324.00. 16 game plans, 8 game plans and flex packs also are available.
