Chiefs Sign Cavanagh and Kozoriz

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that they have re-signed center Chad Cavanagh and signed center John Kozoriz.

Cavanagh had ten goals and eighteen assists in the 69 games with the Chiefs last season. The 6'0, 190 LBS native of Peterborough, ONT also accumulated 64 minutes in penalties during the 2003 – 2004 season, his first with the Chiefs.

"Chad was a key part of our success last season. He was one of the hardest working and most improved players we have seen here. We look forward to David being back for the 2004-05 season," said O'Brien.

Prior to joining the Chiefs, Cavanagh played four seasons with Acadia University of the Canadian Inter-University Sports League beginning in 1999-2000 when he appeared in 26 games scoring 11 goals and 12 assists. The following season, as a sophomore, he scored 9 goals with 12 assists in 28 games. He played only 13 games in the 2001-02 season but finished he senior year with twenty five points, the most of his college career

Kozoriz, 23, appeared in 27 games last season playing for the University of Prince Edward Island in the Canadian Inter-University League. He had 19 goals and 9 assists for 28 points last season. The 5'11, 190 LBS native of Komoka, ONT also has five years experience in the OHL playing for both the Oshawa Generals and Mississauga Ice Dogs. Over those five years Kozoriz accumulated 177 points scoring 80 goals and 97 points.
