May 5, 2020 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Fargo Force News Release
FARGO, ND - The Fargo Force selected 21 players in the 2020 USHL Phase II Draft on Tuesday, including 11 forwards, nine defensemen and one goalie. Goaltender Andrew Miller was selected with the Force's first pick. Miller played the 2019-20 season with the Bismarck Bobcats in the NAHL. The netminder from Boulder, CO played in 35 games with a .912 save percentage and a 2.29 GAA.
Prior to the draft, the Force made a big trade with Sioux City. Fargo traded a 1st round pick (#12 overall) to the Musketeers for coveted defenseman Scott Morrow. Morrow racked up 67 points (22g, 45a) last season with Shattuck St. Mary's Prep. The Darien, CT native is committed to the University of North Dakota.
For Phase II, USHL teams selected players from multiple birth years (2000-2004) looking to fill their protected lists with players who will compete for roster spots for the 2020-21 season. Phase II continued until all USHL teams had secured 45 players on their Initial Protected List. That list includes affiliate players from the 2019-20 season, players selected in Phase I, and players signed to a tender.

"A lot of hard work and preparation went into the Draft by our staff, and the Force had a big day - starting with acquiring Scott Morrow," said Fargo GM Cary Eades. "Morrow is an offensive D-man who we feel was one of the best players not in junior hockey this past season - he's an absolute game breaker! As the day went along, we were able to select players at all 3 positions, as we have a bunch of holes to fill from last year's Force team that saw 14 players graduate to college and pro hockey."
All players selected will be invited to the Fargo Force tryout camp in Fargo to compete for a spot on the Force roster for the 2020-21 season.
