Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL encourage fans to bid on "Dinner with Derek" to raise money for the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. Specifically, everyone is invited to participate in an on-line, live auction of an opportunity for four persons to have dinner with Royals' forward Derek Mathers at Stokesay Castle in late March with all of the proceeds from the charitable auction benefitting the ARL.
"I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to help out the Animal Rescue League," Mathers said. "I love animals, and I'm proud to be part of this effort to help out such a great cause in the Reading community. I look forward to having dinner with a few Royals' fans, but I want to make sure that we push the winning bid as high as possible to help out the ARL. Let's put it this way, the higher the winning bid, the better the stories...."
