Savannah Sand Gnats News Release

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Sand Gnats will host their 2nd annual Locks of Love event at the game on Friday, Aug. 17. Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces for disadvantaged children suffering from medical hair loss. Three stylists from Robs on Forsyth Park will be at Grayson Stadium from 6-7:30 p.m. to cut the hair of any fans interested in donating their hair.

At least 10 inches of hair are needed for Locks of Love to make a hairpiece. However, Locks of Love will accept hair between six and 10 inches in length, as it can be sold to raise money for the organization. Regardless of hair length, all fans are welcome to receive a haircut from one of the stylists and make a donation to Locks of Love.

Fans can also bring to the park 10 inches of their hair from home. The hair must be braided and sealed in a plastic bag. For more information on Locks of Love visit www.locksoflove.org.

Friday's game, which starts at 7 p.m., will be immediately followed by fireworks presented by 98.7 The River.
