
Crawdads Drop Series for First Time in Second Half

Hickory Crawdads News Release
Hickory, NC-The Hickory Crawdads lost to the Columbus Catfish, 4-1, on Tuesday at L.P. Frans Stadium. It was the first time in the 2nd half the Crawdads lost a series.
Columbus scored a run in the 1st on an RBI single by Nevin Ashley. Dads' Starter Jared Hughes settled down and struck out 8. Hughes only allowed 3 more runs in 7 total innings, but still took the loss to fall to 7-8 on the season.
Hickory was unable to score a run and picked up just 2 hits in 6 innings against Catfish SP Jeremy Hellickson. Hellickson earned the win to improve to 12-2 on the year.
Hickory loaded the bases and scored a run in the 8th. However, Jonel Pacheco struck out with the bases loaded as the inning was ended.
The Crawdads open up a 4 game series at Lakewood Friday night at 7:00. RHP Matt McSwain is scheduled to start for Hickory. All games can be heard live on WMNC 92.1 FM.
