Fan favorite returns to the Beef

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association is pleased to announce the signing of defensive lineman Richard Johnson. A long time fan favorite in Omaha, Richard "Big Sexxy" Johnson returns to the Beef after a stellar season with the Evansville Bluecats. The 6'4 285 defensive end finished the 2005 season with 23 solo tackles, 20 assisted tackles, and 17 tackles for loss in only 11 games. Johnson also finished with 5 sacks, an interception, and a safety.
"We are very happy to get Richard back with the Omaha Beef," stated Head Coach Robert Fuller. "Richard is an impact player on the defensive line and will really help us control the line of scrimmage. He has the speed to blow past an offensive lineman and the power to run over them."
One of Johnson's most memorable performances last season came against the Sioux Falls Storm in a close overtime loss. Due to a key injury on the offensive line Johnson had to play both ways and participated in 94 plays during the overtime contest. "That great example of Richard's desire and mental toughness," added Fuller.
Fans are welcomed to watch Richard and many others at the Omaha Beef's "Invite only" tryouts February 4th and 5th at the Center Sports Complex located on 147th and Giles. Saturday's try-out will be from 6-8 P.M. and Sunday's session will run from 10 A.M to noon.
