THIS WEEK'S GAME PREVIEWS

--FRIDAY, MARCH 9, 2007 vs Portland Pirates --

The Pirates travel to Springfield for the fourth time marking the eighth meeting between the two teams this season. The Falcons have enjoyed their season series with the Pirates this year, picking up at least a point in seven out of the eight games. Springfield's record against the Pirates is 5-1-0-1 this year. The Falcons have taken the last three games from the Pirates including a 4-3 victory at the

MassMutual Center back on January 5, 2007.

Both Daniel Corso and Eric Healey played big rolls in the previous victory and have had success against the Pirates this season. Healey and Corso each have 11 points this season against the Pirates. Healey added three assists in the win back on January 5, while Corso added two goals, including a shorthanded tally on a penalty shot.

The Pirates will look towards Petteri Wirtanen, who has scored three of his six goals on the season against the Falcons, to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Pirates currently sit four points behind the Worcester Sharks for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division standings.

--SATURDAY, MARCH 10, 2007 vs Providence Bruins --

The Falcons and Bruins meet for the third time in a little over two weeks. The Bruins return to the MassMutual Center with a head of steam. The Baby B's are riding a four-game winning streak in which they have outscored their opponents 19-5. Of those 19 goals, 10 of them came against the Falcons over the span of two games.

After his brief stint in the NHL, the Bruins hope forward David Krejci will continue his strong play against the Falcons this season. Krejci returned to the Bruins by recording five points in two games. Krejci is no stranger to multi-point games having already recorded three of them in five games against the Falcons this year.

The Bruins are currently one point behind the Hartford Wolf Pack for the second seed in the Atlantic Division.

--SUNDAY, MARCH 11, 2007 at Hartford Wolf Pack --

The Falcons travel south to take on the Wolf Pack in a Sunday afternoon game. The two teams have enjoyed numerous classic battles this season including a 2-1 Hartford win where the Wolf Pack registered 55 shots on net back on January 21 and the Falcons 5-2 win at home on Rob Murray night over the Pack.

Hartford rookie Ryan Callahan continues to be one of the league's top youngsters ranking fifth in the AHL in rookie scoring with 33 goals and 18 assists for 51 points in 56 games. Callahan leads Hartford in scoring, while four of the Pack's top five scorers are rookies including: Dane Byers, Alex Bourret and Brandon Dubinsky.

LAST WEEK'S GAME RECAPS

--WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2007 AT Worcester Sharks L - 6-2--

The Falcons dug themselves into an early hole after they surrendered goals to Mathieu Darche and Riley Armstrong. The Falcons were able to inch closer in the second after Norm Milley's shorthanded goal. Darche scored his second goal of the game seven minutes into the third making the score 4-1. Daniel Corso's goal 30-seconds later cut the deficit in half, but it wasn't enough as the Sharks added two more goals.

--SUNDAY, MARCH 4, 2007 AT Worcester Sharks W - 3-2-(SO)--

Looking to bounce back from their loss four days earlier, the Falcons traveled back to Worcester. Adam Henrich opened the scoring with his third of the season. The Sharks wasted no time to react as Graham Mink tied the score 15-seconds later. Ashton Rome put the Sharks up 2-1 with an unassisted goal one minute into the second period. The Falcons battled back and got a power play goal from P. J. Atherton, his first of the year. After a scoreless third period and overtime, the game went into a shootout. Both Karri Ramo and Thomas Greiss were strong not allowing a goal through seven rounds. In the eighth round, Daniel Corso put an end to the game as he found the back of the net.
