Springfield Falcons News Release

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today their 2006-07 schedule will include a season series with both the Rochester Americans and the Toronto Marlies.

The Falcons haven't played a season series against the Americans since the 2000-01 campaign, while Springfield and Toronto are set to meet each other for the first time in franchise history during the 2006-07 season.

"We are very excited to have both Rochester and Toronto on our schedule this year," said Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon. "We also expect our fans to be excited about both teams visiting Springfield this season. Springfield and Rochester have had many memorable games over the years and Toronto is also enriched with a strong hockey tradition."

Springfield and Rochester have met 16 times since the Falcons inaugural season in 1994, with the Falcons posting an all-time series record of 8-7-1 against the Americans. The Falcons will be entering their 13th American Hockey League season and will once again be competing within the AHL's Eastern Conference.

The complete 2006-07 schedule is expected to be released after the AHL's Board of Governors Meetings set for June 26-29 at Hilton Head Island, S.C. The Falcons are currently accepting deposits on full, half, and 10-game season ticket packages for the 2006-07 season, in addition to 40 and 10-Flex Packs.
