Falcons Host Stockton in Pre-Season Contest

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team will host the Stockton Thunder in a pre-season game in preparation for the 2007-08 ECHL season.

The game is set for Wednesday, October 10 at Save Mart Center with face-off at 7:00 p.m., and doors opening at 6:00. All Falcons' season-ticket holders will be admitted free of charge. All other tickets can be purchased for $5.

The Falcons and Thunder will also match-up for a pre-season contest in Stockton at a date and time to be announced by the Thunder.

In additional news, the city of Fresno was recently ranked 33rd by Sports Business Journal in its ranking of 242 minor-league cities in the United States. Cities were ranked using the following criteria: tenure, attendance, and economic impact. The ranking does not take into account other sports options in the market, such as racetracks, high-profile college programs or major junior hockey leagues. Also, markets that are home to a major league franchise were not included in the main ranking. Fresno was seventh among cities with an ECHL team.

The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Friday, October 19, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. for an Opening Night Extravaganza, presented by Eye Q Vision Care. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a replica Falcons' jersey.
