Fresno Falcons News Release

FRESNO, Calif. – The totals are in from the Jan. 16 post-game auction of the Fresno Falcons' game-worn Affiliation Night Specialty Jerseys, which were designed to commemorate the organization's affiliation with the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks. Falcons fans pledged a total of $17,775, all of which will be donated to Community Food Bank.

Six jerseys sold for more than $1,000 including goaltender Terry Friesen's #31, which brought in the highest dollar amount of $1,325. Assistant captain Kris Porter's #47 elicited $1,200 and Scott Borders' #29 garnered $1,025, followed by Mark Jackson's #5, Mike Mathers' #77 and Adam Stefishen' s #12, which raised $1,000 apiece.

The Falcons will hold two more post-game jersey auctions this season. On Feb. 13 during their game against the Alaska Aces, the team will wear Valentine's Day jerseys courtesy of Valley Lahvosh Baking Co. with the auction proceeds benefiting the California Transplant Donor Network. The final jersey auction of the season will be held on March 17 when Fresno hosts the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Proceeds from that evening's post-game auction of the Falcons' St. Patrick's Day-themed jerseys will benefit the United Way.

Fresno returns from this week's All-Star Break on Friday, Jan. 23, when they will battle the Bakersfield Condors at Save Mart Center at 7 p.m. The first 3,000 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a Falcons baseball cap courtesy of Eye Q Vision Care.

Tickets for the game are still available for as little as $8 and can be purchased at the Save Mart Center box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, which include select Save Mart Supermarkets, Tower Records, Wherehouse Music and Ritmo Latino locations, charged by phone at 485-TIXS or bought online by clicking the Ticketmaster icon throughout www.fresnofalcons.com.
