San Diego Gulls News Release

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Gulls announced more organizational changes Wednesday, naming Jeremy Zager director of public relations and Alan Friedman director of corporate sales.

Zager, 24, is in his fifth season in the Gulls' public relations department and replaces Tera Black, who was named the team's new chief operating officer, as the public relations director. Last season he was selected as the West Coast Hockey League's Media Director of the Year (along with Black). As the public relations director, Zager will be responsible for coordinating all media correspondence including player and coach interviews, press releases and web content. He will also be responsible for all community relations projects and day-of-game media relation activities, as well as putting together each season's media guide and programs. Zager also serves as a part-time broadcaster for the Gulls alongside Chris Ello and can also be heard on the Gulls Internet Radio Show, aired biweekly on wsRadio.com.

"Jeremy has really proven himself in his tenure with the team," Black said. "He is dedicated, and his journalistic integrity is second to none. He has a great knowledge of hockey and I look forward to having him in this position."

Friedman comes to the Gulls after spending the last three seasons with the Fresno Falcons. Last year, he was selected as the WCHL's Marketing Director of the Year. As the director of corporate sales, Friedman is responsible for securing marketing partnerships with local merchants and companies. During his stint in Fresno, Friedman also hosted a sports talk show on 1430 AM "The Big Dawg," an ESPN Radio affiliate. Prior to his work with the Falcons, he was the owner and editor-in-chief of the "The Fresno Sporting News."

"We are very fortunate to have such a talented person join our staff," Black said. "Alan possesses every attribute necessary in developing a successful corporate marketing department. He is honest, straightforward and brings with him a great reputation within the sport."
