
Falcons Beat Penguins 6-3, Have Won Three Of Last Four Games

The Springfield Falcons concluded a very impressive week that saw them win three of their last four contests as they beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by a score of 6-3 on Sunday afternoon at the MassMutual Center. Chad Wiseman led the Falcons offense with four goals and two assists, tying a Falcons record for most goals in a game. Goaltender J.P. Levasseur was once again steady stopping 34 of 37 shots in winning his third straight start.
Wiseman joins Grant Potulny, Daniel Briere and Jean-Guy Trudel as Falcons players who have scored four goals in a game. The Falcons earned six of a possible eight points in the standings this past week and overall, they have points in four of their last five contests going (3-1-1-0) in that span.
The Falcons opened the scoring at the four-minute mark of the first period when Wiseman scored his 10th goal of the year. The Penguins responded at 9:39 of the opening frame when Chris Connor scored evening the score at 1-1. Wilkes-Barre took their first lead of the night at 18:37 of the opening period when Eric Tangradi scored on the power play.
In the second period, the Falcons evened the score at 2-2 when Wiseman scored his second goal of the game, this time on the power play at 2:11. Wiseman finished off the natural hat trick at 8:43 of the second period with his third marker of the game regaining Springfield's lead at 3-2. Wiseman collected his fourth point of the night at 14:37 of the middle stanza when he set up Liam Reddox for a power play goal giving the Falcons a 4-2 lead through 40 minutes.
In the third period, Falcons All-Star representative Charles Linglet converted on the power play making it 5-2 in Springfield's favor. The Penguins cut their deficit to 5-3 before Wiseman added his fourth marker of the night into an empty net in the game's final minute.
