
P-Bruins Fall To River Rats 4-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Albany River Rats 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Jeff LoVecchio. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Dunkin' Donuts Mug Night against the Lowell Devils.
The River Rats took a 1-0 advantage at the 11:43 mark of the opening period. Jerome Samson tallied his 15th goal of the season, while Jamie McBain picked up the lone assist. Albany led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Albany made it 2-0 at the 5:40 mark of the second period. Jacob Micflikier netted his seventh goal of the season, while Stefan Chaput recorded the lone assist. The River Rats led 2-0 going into the second intermission.
The River Rats extended their lead to 3-0 at the 1:42 mark of the third period. Mickflikier scored his second of the game and eighth of the season, while McBain had the lone assist. Providence got on the board at the 8:07 mark. Alain Goulet held the puck behind his own net, before passing it up ahead to Zach Hamill. He found LoVecchio cutting towards the River Rats zone giving LoVecchio a breakaway. LoVecchio tallied his tenth goal of the season. Albany finished off the scoring with a power play goal at the 13:15 mark. Micflikier netted his third goal of the game and ninth of the season, with McBain and Jay Harrison getting the assists. The River Rats went onto the 4-1 victory.
Kevin Regan stopped 32 of 36 shots for the P-Bruins, while Justin Peters made 29 saves for the River Rats. The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
Providence is back in action Friday at The Dunk for Dunkin' Donuts Mug Night against the Devils at 7:05 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the week at The Dunk Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Kid's T-Shirt Night against the Springfield Falcons.
