Fairbanks, AK. 2.09.09. Ricky Bertz, General Manager and owner of the Fairbanks Grizzlies, announced the signing of (5) players who bring speed to the roster that will make Coach Ponders Offense more explosive and Coach Deaton's Defense more intimidating.
Coach Ponder- "The one thing you cannot coach is speed, and these 5 players definitely have it. They will bring another dynamic facet to the offense and defensive."
Kieon Snead 5'10" 175lb WR - 4.39 40yd - Johnson C Smith University,
Ikaika Neizman 5'9" 175 WR - 4.37 40 yd - New Mexico University

Johnell Brown 5'10" 194 DB/WR - 4.32 40 yd
Jaray Austin 6'0" 200 DB/WR - 4.48 40 yd - Saddleback College
Coach Ponder on Keion Snead
"Keion has great hands and can get up and fly; he will definitely get the opposing teams DB's in a back peddle quickly"
Coach Ponder on Ikaika Neizma
"He is a gifted athlete that can change direction on a dime; the bonus with him is that he was the starting kicker also. He kicked a 48yd field goal two times and is very consistent on extra points."
Coach Ponder on Josh Crawford
"He is the one to keep an eye on, great route runner with excellent hands."
Coach Ponder on Johnell Brown
"He is a Devin Hester (Chicago Bears) type of player, can do so many things well. He will work on both sides of the ball and give us the speed we need."
Coach Ponder on Jaray Austin
"I know Jaray from coaching in California, he is an All-Conference player and I think he can adapt to this league very well."
