Bloomington Extreme News Release
BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - Coming off a disappointing start to their 2010 campaign, the Bloomington Extreme will have a chance to redeem themselves when they host Central North Division rival, the Green Bay Blizzard Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Kick-off is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Extreme (0-1) lost its season opener last week, 49-37 to the expansion Richmond Revolution. Bloomington was led by quarterback Luke Drone who was 14-28 for 132 and two touchdown passes. Running back Derrick Brown Jr. ran for two touchdowns, while wide receiver Harry Lewis caught two.
The Blizzard (1-0) are led by quarterback Jake Phillips, who was this week's IFL Offensive Player of the Week. Phillips and the rest of the Blizzard were impressive in their IFL debut as they were victorious in a tough road game against the Sioux City Bandits 69-61. Phillips was exceptional, completing 16-22 passes for 241 yards for 8 TDs.
NOTE: The Extreme's Sunday, June 13 game at Maryland has been moved to Saturday, June 12, beginning at 7:05 p.m.
