Wichita Wild News Release

Saturday's Indoor Football League (IFL) game between the Wichita Wild and the Sioux Falls Storm is probably the most anticipated early season game in the entire league. The game kicks-off at 7:05 PM at Hartman Arena. The Wild are coming off of winning the Central Division title in 2009 while Sioux Falls had won the previous three Central Division crowns. Both teams come into the game with records of 1-0 and the teams will be looking to take early control of the division race.

The Wild defeated the La Crosse Spartans in Week 1 by a score of 57-40. Clinton Solomon looked to be in mid-season form as he hauled in nine receptions for 117 yards and two TD's. Wild quarterback Dixie Wooten went 15-24 for 192 yards and three TD's. Wooten also ran for a touchdown. Darius Fudge added three TD's on the ground for the Wild.

The Wild defense dominated the Spartans by only allowing 104 total yards. Randy Kelly led the Wild in tackles with seven and Collin Bryant added 4.5 tackles in the game. The Wild forced the Spartans into three turnovers on the night.

The Storm enters the game after defeating the Omaha Beef 54-47 last week. Quarterback Terrance Bryant led the Storm by completing 24 of 33 passes for 231 yards, two TD's and 0 INT. All-IFL receiver and former Kansas State standout, James Terry had 12 catches for 148 yards and one TD. Dusty Hovorka recorded eight catches for 59 yards and a touchdown while running back Sean Treasure added 75 yards on 20 rushes with three TD's.

Defensively the Storm was led by defensive back Brian McIntire with eight tackles. Linebacker Mark Blackburn added seven tackles and a sack. The Storm held the Beef to only 102 passing yards and zero rushing yards in their game last Saturday.
