
Express to Open Eight-Game Homestand with Colorado Springs and Reno

ROUND ROCK, Texas - After an eight-game, nine-day road trip, the Round Rock Express returns to the friendly confines of Dell Diamond to open an eight-game homestand against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Colorado Rockies) and Reno Aces (Diamondbacks) on Thursday, May 16.
The E-Train and Sky Sox will kick things off Thursday, May 16 with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch in the series opener. The series will last through Sunday with the first of four post-game concerts following Saturday's 6:05 p.m. matchup. Bob Schneider will take the stage in centerfield as the 2013 St. David's Summer Concert Series, presented by Dell opens with its first performance. The series will conclude on Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch on H-E-B Kid's Day featuring interactive inflatable games, kiddie train rides, a post-game run of the bases and much more. Colorado Springs will bring in some star power with its roster including No. 14 prospect (MLB.com) second baseman Charlie Culberson and No. 16 prospect OF Corey Dickerson. The Sky Sox will also feature 1B/C Matt McBride who finished third in the PCL with a .344 average in 2012 and played 31 games with the Rockies a season ago.
Following the four-game series with the Sky Sox, Round Rock will open another four-game set with the Reno Aces on Monday, May 20 at 7:05 p.m. The Aces will make their first trip to Dell Diamond since May 23-26, 2011. The last time the two teams squared off in Texas, they split the four-game series with the Express earning two one-run victories. The series will conclude on the Original Thirsty Thursday, May 23 when Dell Diamond features $1.00 sodas and discounted draft beers, presented by Firetol Protection Systems. Reno brings six of the Diamondbacks' top 20 prospects with it, including the top prospect (MLB.com) in Arizona's farm system, LHP Tyler Skaggs. The visitor's dugout will also feature the No. 4 (3B Matt Davidson), No. 6 (SS Chris Owings), No. 9 (RHP Zeke Spruill), No. 14 (RHP Evan Marshall) and No. 19 (RHP Chase Anderson) organizational prospects.
