Windsor Express News Release

(WINDSOR, ON) It wasn't pretty, but the Windsor Express are the first team to 10 wins this season, earning an 82-78 win over the Mississauga Power at the WFCU Centre on Saturday night.

Windsor shot 34% from the field for the game, but found enough to take their final game of the 2014 calendar year.

Including the second half of last season and the playoffs, the Express posted a 36-14 record in 2014, highlighted by a 23-5 mark at home.

The Express started out strong, with a 20-14 advantage after the first quarter, but watched the Power fight back and holding a 41-40 lead at halftime.

Chris Commons had a team high 22 points in the win, with a key play at the end of the third quarter, stealing an inbound pass and nailing a layup at the buzzer, making the score 63-61 Windsor - a lead they would not relinquish.

DeAndre Thomas added 9 points in the fourth quarter, 17 for the game, and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Mississauga's Travis Releford had a double-double in the loss with a game high 31 points and 11 rebounds.

The 2015 portion of the Express schedule opens November 1st when the Express host the Brampton A's at 7:00pm at the WFCU Centre.
