Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK - Join the Round Rock Express for Armed Services Day presented by Military Banking, only at Bank of America, as Round Rock takes on Salt Lake City on Monday, May 25 at 7:05 p.m. at The Dell Diamond.
Fans are invited to attend the Memorial Day game for free in exchange for an item included on the Operation Interdependence Military Care Package list below. Any listed item is welcome and can be exchanged for one berm ticket to the Memorial Day game.
In addition to accepting care package donations, the Express will also be honoring the Armed Forces in a variety of other ways. As part of the pre-game ceremonies, the National Guard will host its official swearing-in ceremony on the field of The Dell Diamond. Members of the Armed Forces will throw out the game's first pitch and the Lone Star Trail of Heroes Run Across Texas will finish inside the ballpark.
The Run Across Texas began in Amarillo on May 17 and will have covered more than 400 miles by the time it reaches the inner-confines of The Dell Diamond. The run is a living memorial to fallen Texas soldiers and benefits Austin-Based Operation Honor Our Heroes.
Hope For Heroes and the National Guard will have information tables set up near the home plate entrance of the stadium. Fans may also visit the Soldiers' Angels table to sign cards and notes for soldiers currently deployed on active duty.
Members from each branch of the military will be honored during the game, and all military personnel with proper identification will receive a $1 discount at the ticket window for Monday's game.
