Vermont Lake Monsters News Release
WINOOSKI, VT --- The Vermont Expos, coming off a successful seven-game roadtrip, return home to Centennial Field this weekend for a three-game series with the Oneonta Tigers beginning on Friday night and ending Sunday evening.
Friday is Stowe Mountain Resort Night at the ballpark and the first 1,000 fans will be given a free Stowe Mountain Resort Alpine Slide/Gondola Ride Ticket. Saturday is Vermont Army National Guard Night with 1,000 baseballs to be given away, while Sunday's homestand finale is Century 21-Jack Associates Night with a 500 soft-toss baseball giveaway.
During Sunday's game, Century 21-Jack Associates will be holding their second annual "HOME-run" Contest. Nine pre-selected contestants from Century 21 will be matched up with a batter in the Expos lineup and the contestant whose player puts up the best numbers during the game will win a down payment towards a home.
Other highlights of the homestand will be a Scout Sleepover on Saturday night where some of the area scout troops will sleep over at Centennial Field. After Saturday's game, the scouts will set up tents in the outfield, watch the movie "Rookie of the Year" and have breakfast at the ballpark on Sunday morning. Following Sunday's game will be the second of four WOKO "Have a Catch" Sundays with fans being able to go out onto Centennial Field and play catch for about half an hour after the final game of the homestand.
These three games with Oneonta are the only chance to catch the Expos before they head down to Lowell for a five-game series with the Spinners. Vermont's next homestand after this weekend will be July 17-22 when the Expos host the Batavia Muckdogs (Philadelphia) and the Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets).
