Arizona Rattlers News Release

PHOENIX - Three Rattler free agents will return for the 2007 season, head coach Gene Nudo announced today.

Veterans Kelvin Ingram, Bo Kelly and Jerry Sharp will be wearing copper helmets once again for the Rattlers 16th season.

"All of these players are at the core of our team leadership," said Nudo.

Offensive/defensive lineman Ingram (6'5", 285) returns for his tenth AFL season, his sixth with the Rattlers. Last season Ingram recorded twelve total tackles, one safety and one fumble recovery for a touchdown in thirteen games. Prior to joining the AFL, Ingram spent time in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks. Ingram was a three-year letterman at Okalahoma State University.

"Ingram is coming off of a good year," said Nudo. "He is a very durable player and does not miss games. With sixteen games in a row with no bye week you need guys you can count on."

FB/LB Kelly (6'1", 235), one of the league's most prolific fullbacks, returns for his twelfth AFL season and eleventh with the Rattlers. Kelly remains the Rattlers all-time career rushing leader. In his career Kelly has run for 1,367 yards. Last season Kelly rushed for over 100 yards for the third time in his career. He also recorded 30.5 tackles on defense, deflected nine passes, and recovered two fumbles. Kelly was a second-team All-Lone Star Conference selection in his senior year at East Texas State University where he was second on the team in rushing, third in receiving, and second in scoring with six touchdowns as a fullback. Kelly earned Snow Bowl "Most Valuable Player" honors in 1994.

"The new substitution rules will place greater emphasis on the running game, and there isn't a better running back in the game than Bo Kelly," said Nudo.

Offensive/defensive lineman Sharp (6'4", 300) will enter his thirteenth season in the AFL and third with Rattlers. Last season Sharp recorded 15 total tackles in 16 games. Prior to joining the Rattlers, Sharp spent two seasons with the New York Dragons where he played in 30 games, including two playoff games, recorded 15.5 tackles and two fumble recoveries. During his AFL tenure, Sharp has also spent time with Orlando, Nashville, New England, Carolina, New Jersey and Buffalo. Sharp was a four-year letterman at Syracuse University where he helped lead his team to a Fiesta Bowl victory during his senior season.

"Sharp is coming off of his best season in years," said Nudo. "We are really excited to have him at center."

The Rattlers will kick off their 16th season on Saturday March 3. The AFL season will run from March through July. Rattlers season tickets can be purchased by calling 602-514-8383.
