Everett AquaSox News Release
Hillsboro, OR: The Everett AquaSox came from behind to win the game in extra innings on Sunday at Ron Tonkin Field, 6-3. Mariners Top Prospect Harry Ford had the go-ahead RBI triple in the 10th inning and Logan Rhinehart picked up his first win of the season. The AquaSox are now 36-33 overall on the season, and 2-1 in the second half.
Early on it was a pitching dual in Hillsboro. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Hops got to reliever Bernie Martinez for three runs.
The AquaSox answered back by scoring three times in the seventh, Sanchez scored on a pass ball and then Blake Rambusch drove in a run on a fielder's choice. Then, with two outs, Victor Labrada singled through the left side of the infield to tie the game up. Since being added to the AquaSox roster on June 6th, Labrada is hitting .268 (11-41)
Making a spot start, Jimmy Kingsbury had his longest outing of the year going 4.0 innings. Kingsbury got into a little trouble in the third inning with the bases loaded but induced a double play ground ball to get out of the inning without allowing a run. In seven games this month, Kingsbury has a 2.57 ERA.
After Ford's triple, Alberto Rodriguez singled him in, and Axel Sanchez added a solo home run. Sanchez now has three home runs.
Sam Carlson, Leon Hunter Jr, and Rhinehart allowed only two base runners over the final 5.2 innings. Rinehart, who is third in the league in saves, lowered his ERA to 1.86
