Everett rallies late to stop Vancouver in front of sold out Scotiabank Field

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - A single off the bat of Everett 3B Ramon Morla scored CF Nate Melendrez from third base giving the Aquasox a 4-3 come from behind victory over the Vancouver Canadians on Friday afternoon out at sold out Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.

For the second straight game, the Canadians offense was the first on the manually-operated scoreboard grabbing a run in the bottom of the 3rd inning. 2B Jon Berti would lead off with a single off of Everett starter RHP Jose Campos and eventually come around to score on a single off the bat of RF Nick Baligod.

A second run would give the Canadians a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 5th inning when 2B Jon Berti would smack a base hit to left field and score on a hard hit single off the bat of RF Nick Baligod, the second straight time these two connected for a run scored.

Everett would be held in check by Canadians starter LHP Justin Nicolino who went five scoreless innings, but once interim manager Rich Miller dipped into the Vancouver bullpen, the potent Aquasox offense would come alive.

The first batter that reliever RHP Blake McFarland would face, 2B Jorge Agudelo would double over the head of C's CF Jon Jones and come into score on a bunt single from Nate Melendrez. SS Marcus Littlewood also found a base hit in the inning and was chased in when McFarland uncorked a wild pitch bringing Littlewood home from third base to even the game at 2-2.

Vancouver fought for a second lead on the afternoon getting to Everett reliever RHP Nolan Diaz. C Chris Schaeffer would reach base on one of six errors committed by the Aquasox on Friday, before scoring on a groundout from RF Nick Baligod to help the C's to a 3-2 lead.

For the second straight game, the Aquasox found a way to rally late as in the top of the 8th inning, SS Marcus Littlewood would triple off of McFarland and score on a single from CF Nate Melendrez. Seconds later, Melendrez would become the lead run on a base hit from 3B Ramon Morla helping Everett to a 4-3 lead.

In the bottom of the 9th, the Canadians would rally late as Aquasox manager Scott Steinmann would turn the ball over to closer RHP Tim Griffin who would watch as both 2B Jon Berti and CF Jon Jones reached base on separate errors before getting RF Nick Baligod to ground out to end the game.
