Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades opened the 2010-11 season this past weekend splitting a pair of games with the Gwinnett Gladiators at Germain Arena. The Everblades enter this week's action with a record of 1-1-0 (2pts., 2nd South Division.)
THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)
Thursday & Friday, October 21 & 22 at Greenville Road Warriors Both Games 7:05 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades head out on the road for the first time in 2010-11 and visit the Road Warriors for the first two games of the three-game trip. For Greenville it's their season opening games. The Everblades and Road Warriors met for a pair of pre-season games at Germain Arena on Oct. 8-9 with the Everblades winning both. The Road Warriors bring hockey back to Greenville, SC for the first time since 2006 after relocating from Johnstown, PA following last season. The teams meet a total of 15 times during the regular season, with seven of them at the BI-LO Center. Interestingly enough the Everblades bridge the gap of hockey in Greenville. While Thursday night's game is the first ever for the current Greenville Road Warriors, the final ECHL game for the old Greenville Grrrowl came during the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs in a 9-4 Everblades victory that eliminated Greenville from the playoffs.
Saturday, October 23 at Gwinnett Gladiators 7:05 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades make their first visit of the season to The Arena at Gwinnett Place on Saturday night. The Everblades and Gladiators split a pair of games at Germain Arena to open the season this past weekend, with Florida winning 3-2 in a shootout on Friday night and Gwinnett taking a 5-3 win on Saturday night. The game is the first of six between the teams at Gwinnett and is the third of 12 overall. The Everblades are 33-28-8 all-time vs. Gwinnett and are 14-18-2 all-time on the road vs. the Gladiators. Gwinnett enters this week's action with a record of 1-0-1 (3pts., 1st South Division.)
