
Everblades Promote Two D-Men to AHL

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers, have announced defenseman AJ Thelen has been loaned to Rochester (AHL) and defenseman Elgin Reid has been recalled by Albany (AHL).
Defenseman AJ Thelen earns his first promotion to the American Hockey League this season. Thelen has been a model of consistency on the blue line for the 'Blades. The third-year pro has appeared in 26 games with Florida this year and fired in seven goals and 15 points with a +5 rating. He is tied for second amongst ECHL defensemen in power play tallies (4) and ranks tied for sixth in points (15). The Minnesota native leads all ECHL defenseman in shots with 88.
Defenseman Elgin Reid also receives his first call up to Albany of the American Hockey League. Reid, an all-ECHL rookie team selection in 2008-09, has three goals and eight points in 19 games this season. The second-year professional missed nine games at the start of the season due to injury.
