
Everblades Add Forwards Salters & Hanson

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today the team has agreed to terms with forwards Leigh Salters and Greger Hanson
Salters, 22, joins the Everblades after spending last season with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. The 6-4, 225-pound forward posted three points (1g, 2a) and amassed 111 penalty minutes in 52 appearances with the Crunch last season. The London, Ontario native split time with the Guelph Storm and London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2005-2010. During his five seasons in the OHL he totaled 84 career points (34g, 50a) and 379 penalty minutes, including posting 39 points (18g, 21a) in 56 games with London during the 2009-2010 season. "Leigh is a good sized forward, who can certainly play the role of sticking up for his teammates," said Poss. "He spent his entire first year as a pro in the AHL, and we look forward to him bringing that experience to Florida."
Hanson, 23, heads to the Sunshine State after a productive four-year career at Northern Michigan University. The speedy 5-10, 185-pound forward accumulated 112 career points (40g, 72a) while with the Wildcats from 2007-2011. The Lidingo, Sweden native was a near point-per-game player during the 2009-10 season, logging 38 points (16g, 22a) in just 40 games played. Complete Stats for Greger Hanson
"Greger consistently put up good numbers at the collegiate level," said Poss. "He is a fast skater with good skills, and can be a big contributor on the power play."
The Everblades 2011-12 training camp opens Friday, September 30. The team's first practice will take place at 2:45 p.m. on that day in the green rink inside Germain Arena.
