Portland, Ore. - Portland Winterhawks alum Evan Weinger put the pen to the paper this weekend, re-signing for another season with the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League.

Weinger, 24, spent 2014-17 in the Rose City after being selected in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft by the 'Hawks. The 6-foot, 194-pound winger totaled 187 games with the team, producing 89 points in three full seasons.

The 2021-22 season will be the fourth as a member of the Barracuda for Weinger, where he'll play on the same roster as 2020-21 Portland captain, Nick Cicek. Former Winterhawk Joachim Blichfeld led the Barracuda in scoring last season and also inked a new deal with the San Jose Sharks organization last month.
