SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The United States Hockey League announced today Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman Evan Nause (NAHs) earned USHL Defenseman of the Week honors for his three-point performance and plus-six rating in three games between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1.

The Riverview, New Brunswick, native collected his first honor of the season, as well as the first honor of the season for the Herd, after registering three points from one goal and two assists in three games played last week as well as a plus-six rating. Nause helped the Herd earn a possible five of six points, going 2-0-1-0 during the Thanksgiving holiday week.

He recorded an assist in the 7-1 win over the Fargo Force on Wednesday and the go-ahead goal and an assist in the 4-2 victory of the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday. The first-year defenseman has seven points from two goals and five assists in 16 games played this season. Nause recently captained Team Canada Red at the World U17 Challenge earlier in the month of November.

Nause and his teammates are on the road to faceoff with the Omaha Lancers at Ralston Arena for back-to-back games this weekend before returning home against Dec. 13 and 14 at the PREMIER Center for Ugly Christmas Sweater Night that Saturday.
