
Estrada Scores Again for S2, But the Hosts Fall 2-1 to Reno 1868 FC

TACOMA, WASH. - Sounders FC 2 (3-11-2, 11 points) on Sunday dropped a 2-1 decision to Reno 1868 FC at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. Forward David Estrada scored his team-leading eighth goal of the campaign for S2, and he now ranks tied for seventh in the USL in tallies, one behind the league leader. Captain Ray Saari earned the assist on the lone S2 goal before leaving the match with an injury in the 43rd minute.

Seattle got on the board first in the 18th minute when Saari found Estrada on the right side, and the veteran finished to the bottom left corner of the goal. The forward has now scored four goals in his last five contests, while Saari has recorded two goals and one assist in his last four matches.
In the 60th minute, S2 goalkeeper Calle Brown guessed right on a penalty kick from Seth Casiple, but the ball slipped inside the post to even the game at 1-1. Reno's Duke Lacroix found Brian Brown streaking into the box in the 70th minute, and Brown finished the cross for the game-winner.
S2 returns to action on Saturday, July 14 at Real Monarchs SLC (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+). The Rave Green play next at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma on Thursday, July 26 against Las Vegas Lights FC (7:00 p.m. / ESPN+).
