USL Fresno FC

Match Day | Portland Timbers 2 vs. Fresno FC

July 8, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Fresno FC News Release

The Foxes look to close the gap in the Western Conference standings when they visit Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday. The Foxes (5-7-7) are riding a much-needed 2-0 win over Sacramento Republic FC that pushed them into ninth on the table with 22 points. Fresno will hope to keep the progress going against a Timbers 2 side that has lost three in a row to fall into seventh with 26 points. With the return of Zach Ellis-Hayden to the lineup, the Foxes are looking lethal at the right time to make a push for the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs. Ellis-Hayden made eight tackles against Republic FC, and only gave away one foul to lead the backline to its fifth clean sheet of the season. He also assisted Franck Tayou's goal, giving Ellis-Hayden a team-leading four on the season. Portland, the former home of Foxes' head coach Adam Smith, will look to bounce back behind Marvin Loria (22 chances created in 13 appearances) and Foster Langsdorf (6 goals in 12 apps).
