Edmonton Elks News Release

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed free agent import receiver Cordarol Scales.

A standout at Fort Hays State, Scales (6-4, 220lbs) was a two time All MIAA honourable mention and played in the 2011 Cactus Bowl, the NCAA Division II All-Star game. Scales signed as an undrafted free agent with the NFL's New York Jets on August 10, 2011 but was later waived by the club.

A native of Van Nuys, California, Scales spent 2007 & 2008 at Los Angeles Valley College before transferring to Fort Hays State.

Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman says ""Ed Hervey worked out Cordarol in California last month. He liked what he saw and recommended him highly, but we already had 16 receivers under contract. With a few of our receivers nicked up in camp this is a good opportunity to bring Cordarol in and let him compete."
