
Eskimos sign safety Perryman

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos announced today the signing of import safety Ray Perryman. The Northern Arizona product joins the Eskimos after stints in the NFL and NFL Europe. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 2001 NFL Draft and later spent time with Baltimore and Jacksonville. He also played for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe.
Perryman played in every game of his college career at both linebacker and safety. His senior year he led the team in tackles. He was voted the teams' Most Valuable Player and was chosen as Defensive Player of the Year.
