
Eskimos sign pair of D-linemen

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos announced today they signed two import defensive linemen.
A defensive end at the University of Montana, Mike Murphy played 52 games and had 39 starts and 154 career tackles. He is second in school history with 44.5 tackles for a loss and third in all-time sacks with 27. He was named All-Big Sky in 2004, 2005 and 2006. As a senior he was the recipient of UM football team's Most Valuable Player. He was also a team captain and a co-recipient of the team's Outstanding Defensive Lineman award.
Thomas Carroll was a three-year starter for the Miami Hurricanes at defensive end. He played in 42 games over four years, posting 142 total tackles, 28 of which were tackles for a loss, including 14.5 sacks. He attended the New York Giants training camp in 2006.
