
Eskimos Sign Defensive Lineman

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed free agent import defensive lineman Marcus Howard, the club announced today. A 5th round selection by Indianapolis in the 2008 NFL Draft, Howard appeared in nine games for the Colts in his rookie season, recording 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Released by the Colts September 5, 2009, Howard was on the Tennessee Titans practice roster last season.
As a senior at the University of Georgia, Howard earned First Team All-SEC honours and was named the Sugar Bowl MVP. The South Carolina native finished his collegiate career with 79 tackles (60 solo) 13.5 tackles for losses, 12 sacks (15th on Georgia's All-Time list) and 52 QB pressures.
