Eskimos release Mobley and Brady

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have released linebacker Singor Mobley and defensive back Donald Brady, the club announced today.

Mobley played 158 games over nine season with the Eskimos recording 602 defensive tackles, 21 quarterback sacks, 21 fumble returns for 266 yards and two touchdowns and 15 interceptions for 360 yards and three touchdowns. He also played in 11 playoff games and four Grey Cups. Mobley first joined the Eskimos in 1996 and after two seasons headed south and was one of just three rookies to crack the Dallas Cowboys line-up in 1997. He spent three seasons with the Cowboys before returning to the Eskimos in 2000. Last season, Mobley started all 18 games and was second on the Eskimos with 59 defensive tackles.

Brady first joined Edmonton in 2002, playing in 76 games over five seasons. During his Eskimo career he recorded 180 defensive tackles, 48 special teams tackles, 21 knockdowns, 10 forced fumbles and 13 interceptions. He also played in five playoff games and three Grey Cups. Last season Brady was released by the Eskimos in June and rejoined the team in September. He played in six games, registering 14 defensive tackles and one interception.
