Eskimos Batiste Retires

(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimos announce today international offensive lineman D'Anthony Batiste has retired from the Canadian Football League to become the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the NFL's Oakland Raiders.
"The Eskimos organization would like to thank D'Anthony for all that he's done for the team and the community of Edmonton," said General Manager and VP of Football Operations Brock Sunderland. "We wish him continued success with the Oakland Raiders."
Batiste joined the Green and Gold in 2014. He spent four seasons with the club where he appeared in 55 games.
Batiste was a key contributor to the 2015 Grey Cup championship team. That year he was voted as the Eskimos Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman and also earned West Division All-Star Team honours.
Prior to arriving in Edmonton, Batiste spent time in the AFL2 and in the NFL where he appeared in 37 games.
