(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos announced today they have signed import defensive backs Ray Williams and Siddeeq Shabazz.

Williams attended 2006 training camp with the New Orleans Saints. He played in 49 games at Purdue where he spent his first three seasons at wide receiver before switching to cornerback his senior year. He also competed in track and field for the Boilermakers. Williams moved from Jamaica to the United States when he was 15-years-old.

Shabazz was drafted in the 7th round (246th overall) by the Oakland Raiders in the 2003 NFL Draft. The New Mexico State product spent time with the Raiders, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. In 2006, the Miami Dolphins allocated Shabazz to NFL Europe where he played for the Rhein Fire.
