ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION...

Today, the SeaWolves look to extend their season-long winning streak to six straight as they go for the sweep of the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) at Prince George's Stadium. Last night, the SeaWolves held off a late charge by the Baysox en route to a 9-7 win. The win gave the 'Wolves their second series win over Bowie. The 'Wolves have yet to sweep an opponent in 2010...After beginning the season 0-8, the SeaWolves have been the hottest team in the EL winning nine of their last 11 games. The five-game road winning streak equals the longest for the club over the last seven seasons. Erie's only other five game road winning streak from 2004-on was August 20-24 during the 2008 season...Lefty Andy Oliver takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his fourth start of the season and first against the Baysox. Oliver took a no-decision in his last start against Altoona going five innings, allowing four runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. He has worked at least five innings in each of his last two starts...LHP Zach Britton takes the mound for the Baysox making his fifth start and first against the 'Wolves. In his last start against Akron, Britton allowed seven runs, four earned, on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work in a no-decision. He has allowed at least four runs in each of his last two starts...The SeaWolves have scored 26 runs over the last three games and have outscored opponents 36-19 during the five-game winning streak.

TODAY'S NOTABLES - - Erie leads the season series over Bowie 4-1. The SeaWolves and Baysox meet 23 times in 2010." Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed 22 errors which is the most in the EL. Erie has committed at least one error in 14 of the 19 games played." The 'Wolves have hit into 19 double plays which is the second-most in the EL. - The SeaWolves are seventh in the league with a 3.70 team ERA. Bowie is tied for fifth in the EL with a 3.44 team ERA." The SeaWolves are 11th in the league with a .221 team batting average. It marks the first time this season the 'Wolves have not been last in the league in team batting. Bowie is fourth with a .252 team average. - Erie has connected on 20 home runs which is second-most in the EL. Binghamton leads the EL with 24 team home runs." The SeaWolves are third in the EL with 25 stolen bases. - Max St. Pierre is tied atop the EL, throwing out potential base stealers at a rate of 53.3 percent." The SeaWolves have won four consecutive series.
