Erie Otters News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie Otters, proud members of the Ontario Hockey League, have announced a change behind the bench.
Erie Otters general manager Dave Brown announced that second year head coach BJ Adams has been relieved of his coaching duties, effective immediately.
"This decision has been incredibly difficult; BJ is a fantastic person and someone who always conducted himself professionally, putting the Otters organization and the players' well-being first." said Brown, "BJ is a good friend, and the entire organization has shared some memorable experiences with him, and we thank him for those wonderful times."
Having served as head coach since the 2021-22 season and a part of the coaching staff since 2015, the Otters organization thank BJ Adams for his time, energy, and effort during his time with the Otters, and wish him nothing but the best in success in his future endeavors.
While a thorough and detailed search is conducted for the 10thhead coach in Erie Otters team history, assistant coaches Vince Laise and Wes Wolfe will handle the coaching responsibilities.
"We will work diligently to look for our next coach in the days ahead." said Brown, "[We will] hopefully have something in the immediate future."
The Erie Otters regular season continues Thursday, January 12 against the Owen Sound Attack at the Erie Insurance Arena.
