ERIE, PA - The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, has waived forward Tommy Williams, the team announced today. Erie's roster now stands at 12 players, including Jaylen Adams and Alex Poythress.
Williams (6-5, 220), was originally acquired through the open tryout, prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign. He was one of Erie's returning players this season, appearing in 11 games, recording 2.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in 8.9 minutes. Williams owns career averages of 2.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10.1 minutes of play. He's seen action in 51 NBA G League games over the span of his two-year career.
Erie will now travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase. The BayHawks will face the Texas Legends on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. ET and the Northern Arizona Suns on Friday, Dec. 21 at 5:30 p.m. ET. Both of Erie's games at Showcase will be aired nationally on ESPNU.
