Erickson Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced today that forward Luke Erickson has been named Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the period ending January 9.

Erickson, 28, collected multiple points in each of his team's three contests against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees last week, tallying seven points (5g/2a) and a plus-4 rating and helping the Sundogs to a 2-1-0 mark against the South Texas club.

A native of Roseau, Minnesota, Erickson registered two goals and an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Killer Bees on Wednesday, Jan. 5

On Friday, Jan. 7, the 5-foot-8, 170-pound forward picked up two points (1g/1a) in a 5-3 comeback win over Rio Grande Valley and added a pair of goals and a plus-2 mark in a 6-3 victory over the 'Bees the following night.

Acquired by the Sundogs from the Rapid City Rush on November 11, the five-year pro has totaled 35 points (19g/16a) in 23 contests with Arizona and is averaging more than a point per game this season, leading the Sundogs in scoring with 39 points (21g/18a) in 29 games.
