Indiana Fever News Release
LAS VEGAS - Indiana Fever guard Erica Wheeler will compete in the WNBA Three-Point Contest presented by MTN DEW as part of AT&T WNBA All-Star Friday Night 2019 which takes place on July 26 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Wheeler is the third player ever to represent the Fever in the league's three-point shooting competition, following Kelsey Mitchell last season and 2010 champion Katie Douglas.
Wheeler enters the contest as the league's only player to average 10+ points per game, 5+ assists per game and better than 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Wheeler's 35 3-point field goals this season rank fifth among the cast of six participants, but her 42.7 percentage is third.
Chicago sharpshooter Allie Quigley is the two-time reigning Three-Point Contest champion, having won the event at the 2018 All-Star Game in Minneapolis and the 2017 All-Star Game in Seattle. She will be joined in this year's field by Wheeler, Las Vegas Aces guard Kayla McBride, Los Angeles Sparks guard Chelsea Gray, New York Liberty guard Kia Nurse, and Connecticut Sun guard/forward Shekinna Stricklen.
