
Eric Marvin Chosen As IHL Goaltender Of The Week

FLINT, MI - Flint Generals goaltender Eric Marvin was rewarded for his hard work over the week by being chosen as the Southern Sports Supply IHL goaltender of the week.
Marvin, a native of Naperville Illinois, posted a 1-1-0-0 record for the week, playing just over 129 minutes and making 57 saves. He only allowed five goals against, giving him a 2.32 goals against average and a .919 save percentage for the week. He turned aside 27 of 28 shots for his 18th win of the season as the Generals beat the Kalamazoo Wings 2-1 on Friday night at Perani Arena and Event Center.
Last week, Marvin turned aside 30 of 34 shots as the Gens fell 5-3 to the Fort Wayne Komets at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Marvin continues to lead three of the individual goaltender statistics. Marvin ranks first in minutes-played (2755:58), saves (1231) in the IHL and is also tied for first in losses (18).
Perani Arena and Event Center is expected to be packed and noisy on Wednesday morning for the first Flint Generals School Day Game beginning at 10:30 am.
More than 3,300 school children from the Flint area will be guests of the Generals to not only watch a terrific hockey game between the blue and gold and the Muskegon Fury, but to learn through a variety of subject areas such as math and science.
Wednesday's game will be important for both teams battling for their playoff lives as the Fury have a one point lead on the Generals for third place in the International Hockey League Turner Cup Playoff races.
There is a slight broadcast change for that game as fans will be able to listen to the game on the world-wide-web at www.flintgenerals.com or watch it courtesy of the B2Networks beginning with the pre-game show at 10:10 am. The face-off follows at approximately 10:30 am. A full tape-delay broadcast will be aired at 7 pm on Unforgettable 1470 WFNT and again at www.flintgenerals.com.
