SAN DIEGO, CALIF July8, 2005- Join the San Diego Surf Dawgs and the Golden Baseball League from July 12th-14th as the Fullerton Flyers come into town. Not only will there be the attraction of watching the first place Surf Dawgs play, but there will fun and excitement for all ages during the upcoming home stand.
Tuesday, July 12th the Dave and Jeff Show of ESPN Radio 800 fame will be broadcasting live from Tony Gwynn Stadium during 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Dave and Jeff will have players and coaches on their show providing commentary about the league, the team and Rickey Henderson. Dave and Jeff will also be doing ticket giveaways for fans who want to try and win free entry into the game that night.
Wednesday, July 13th CNN will be taping the first three or four innings of the game as well as taping an interview with outfielder Rickey Henderson to be aired at a later date. The subject of the interview is a list of the 25 Most Fascinating Sports Figures of the last 20 years which Rickey has been awarded with. In addition to that excitement, the first 100 fans through the gate will be provided with a Rickey Henderson poster and after the game players will be signing autographs for any and all Surf Dawgs fans.
Thursday, July 14th will be College Spirit Night, the second of our Thursday Theme Nights, as we ask fans to wear their alma mater's letters to be entered to win a luxury suit for a later Surf Dawgs game. If you show the most school spirit, the Dawgs will bring you down on the field for an on-field promotion.
"This week will not only provide solid baseball action, coupled with some local and national exposure, but most of all family fun for all to experience," said Juliana Paoli, General Manager of the Surf Dawgs. "Come join us as the Surf Dawgs look forward to a captivating playoff run during the second half of the season."

About the Golden Baseball League
The Golden Baseball League, Presented by Safeway Inc./VONS, is a professional baseball league operating under a single-entity ownership model, with the League owning all the individual teams. Charter Golden Baseball League teams include the Chico Outlaws in Chico; CA, the Fullerton Flyers in Fullerton; CA, the Long Beach Armada in Long Beach; CA, the San Diego Surf Dawgs in San Diego; CA, the Mesa Miners in Mesa; AZ, the Surprise Fightin' Falcons in Surprise; AZ, the Yuma Scorpions in Yuma; AZ and the Japan Samurai Bears which will be the traveling team. The season will consist of 90 games per team and will begin late May and end in early September. Each team has a 24-player roster.
