Mandel tied for the Surf Dawgs lead in games played (75) and was a catyst all season long for a team that finished second in the League in overall team batting average. Mandel also gained recognition for an outstanding performance in the League's inaugural All-Star game, when he went hit a double in each of his five at-bats.

Goodman, who was released by the Surf Dawgs in mid-August to pursue opportunities with other teams, appeared in 65 games and hit .296 with 10 HRs and 49 RBIs. Goodman's HR and RBI totals were the highest on the Surf Dawgs in 2006.
